3/21/2024 0 Comments Tropico 6 multiplayer mod maps![]() ![]() I had one game off to a good start but I made some poor choices and went into a tailspin in the Cold War - it's also very tough for the same reasons, very poor agriculture and all the lumber is on one of the small islands so you need to set up boat travel early. Then there's Zarpa Gigante, another desert map with two massive islands with multiple plateaus and then a string of smaller ones in between. Unfortunately I also struggle because I always start from colonial and Shackland just has the one plateau for farms, very little timber, and huge distances from the main population spawn to anywhere useful. Realmforge and Nine Worlds are both studios now owned by Kalypso, so there's a little more oversight from Kalypso going forward, for whatever that's worth.I always keep coming back to Shackland, myself - I love the look of the desert islands in general, and Shackland has those lovely rivers and canyons (one of which is made out of gold). Just for a little more clarity: Limbic wasn't owned by Kalypso (the publisher) they were just a contractor. The only thing that's safe to speculate on is that this is likely nearing the end of life plan for Tropico 6 since Tropico 7 is already in development but it's from yet another developer (Nine Worlds Studio) There's really nothing we can do until Realmforge decides the mod tools are ready for public use and see what they actually include. No further info about what those tools can do has been released, so I'm not going to speculate on whether it includes a scenario editor similar to previous games or if it's something entirely different that's just based on the UE editing tools that which you could already use to edit the game with mods (since it's built in unreal engine) Realmforge recently announced they are making mod tools for the community to use and they currently have a closed (invite only) beta test for those tools. Whatever promises Limbic made are no longer valid.Ģ. The company that originally made the game (Limbic) no longer works on it, they left in 2020 and development was taken over by Realmforge. No it's not released yet, and in the nearly 4 years since this thread from 2019 there's been two notable events:ġ. The only value to the workshop will be if someone handcrafts an interesting custom map some day (assuming we ever get that editor) There's no one going to sift through 1000+ pregenerated randoms If people wanted to play random maps they would set their own random settings and play one. II had hoped Tropico 6 would have a more sophisticated mission maker at launch or shortly after, but at this point, I just want to know what the hold-up is, especially since they gave a date that has long since passed.Īs far as I'm aware that has not been released yetĪnd that's still true, and it's also a horrible and pointless way to do it. Yeah, I would love to make a custom campaign or something. The games with the biggest mod communities last the longest and continue generating sales for more years. Future buyers see more content, more value and are more likely to buy.plus it keeps the community alive longer to buy into future DLC, and those DLC feed more scenario and content creation. Put the tools out early and your early adopters make scenarios while the game is new and fresh. The players most invested in the game bought in early, they have ideas now, they won't come back years later to make content. ![]() Waiting to put it out longer isn't a good idea either. It's been in previous games in this series, it didn't hurt sales, it helped keep the game relevant for longer. ![]() Maybe we'll see it released down the line. However, it may hurt their DLC sales that are drip-fed to us one at a time.
